WrestleMania 39 Early Match Cards
The 39th annual of WrestleMania will take place on April 1 and 2 at SoFi Stadium in Inglewood, California. It is projected to be over 100,000 fans for each day resulting in a record attendance. This WrestleMania will be the first for Triple H as creative control. How will he create the match ups for the two-night event? Here are the following match card predictions:
WWE Championship
Roman Reigns (C) vs Cody Rhodes
Rhodes won the 2023 Royal Rumble, outlasting 29 other superstars to include the elimination of Intercontinental Champion, Gunther. Reigns holds two world titles so this match is an easy one to book.
Universal Championship
Roman Reigns (C) vs Sami Zayn
Reigns is losing control within his own bloodline. Zayn turned his back on him and Jey Uso walked out of his family at the main event in the Royal Rumble. Should a match between Jey Uso and Reigns happen at the Elimination Chamber PPV, expect Zayn and Reigns to battle.
Bayley vs Becky Lynch
Since 2013, Bayley and Lynch have competed together or against each other 76 times to include NXT Championships and WWE Women's Tag Team Championships. But, never a world title while in the WWE main roster. Their feud will continue and end the chapter at WrestleMania.
Raw Women's Championship
Bianca Belair (C) vs Rhea Ripley
Since Ripley (Royal Rumble winner) has been with the Judgment Day, there has been one brief standoff with Belair. Ripley should make that decision before the Elimination Chamber. On June 6, 2022, Ripley became the number one contender for the Raw Women's Championship when she defeated Alexa Bliss, Doudrop, and Liv Morgan in a fatal four-way match. Afterwards, she was not medically cleared to compete until four months later. Now, she is back on track and seeks the chance to become champion again.
Smackdown Women's Champion
Charlotte Flair (C) vs Liv Morgan
Morgan looks to be favorite to be a number one contender if she participates in the elimination chamber. Morgan has lost three times in singles competition, being submitted by the figure-eight of Charlotte. This could be a great storyline leading to WrestleMania. But the percentage of her being in this match is low.
Bobby Lashley vs Brock Lesnar
The final chapter will happen at WrestleMania.
Rey Mysterio vs Dominik Mysterio
Father versus son is a must see match. It is time for the father to show the son the reality of becoming a real man. Why else have family drama, especially during the holidays (Thanksgiving and Christmas)?
United States Championship
Austin Theory (C) vs John Cena or Carmelo Hayes
Should Theory remain as the US Champion, I can see a call up from NXT and Hayes be the number one contender for the title. However, if Theory drops the title beforehand, a Cena vs Theory should take place.
Intercontinental Championship
Gunther vs Drew McIntyre
Gunther and Drew is a dream match waiting to happen. And why not at WrestleMania. Drew is the top babyface in Smackdown. While Reigns is dealing with the Bloodline, Drew can focus on capturing the IC title. But, should Drew team up with Sheamus, then the focus will not be the IC. They will want to book them two against the Bloodline. The back up plan could be Brock Lesnar vs Gunther should Lesnar and Lashley settle the score at the Elimination Chamber.
