Backlash was first held on April 25, 1999, following WrestleMania XV.  It took place at the Providence Civic Center in Providence, Rhode Island.  It is now known as the Amica Mutual Pavilion.  The main event of the pay per view was "Stone Cold" Steve Austin, the WWF Champion, versus The Rock in a No Holds Barred match for the title.  Shane McMahon was the special guest referee.  

Heading to France

On May 4, 2024, the WWE will be at Décines-Charpieu, Lyon, France, in the LDLC Arena.  The expected start time in the United States is at 1PM ET.
